Alright everyone, welcome to our new show! I’m Brian Sanders and we’re shooting this live on video from Evolve Healthcare AKA Sapien Medical Headquarters AKA Dr. Gary’s medical clinic in Los Angeles. He was a smash hit and I got tons of great feedback from listeners. Luckily I already have been recording this new show with him as a co-host.
We’re here today with myself, Dr. Gary, and Kristi Storoschuk who’s also a member of the Sapien team. You may know Kristi from the Food Lies Instagram or Shawn Baker’s Human Performance Outliers podcast. She’s our main writer and helper in all things and she also works with Dr. Dom D’Agostino.
If you didn’t catch the episode with Dr. Gary he’s an internal medicine specialist and a co-founder of Sapien.org with myself and Yaniv Fituci. Yaniv is a Hollywood producer (you could say) and is producing the Food Lies film with me. He’ll be joining us in the next episode and as a co-host off and on.
In this episode we talk about a bunch of things that will help people get going with their health journey and simplify a lot of the conflicting info that’s out there. Nutrition is this crazy topic that’s so charged with ideals and personal beliefs and all kinds of conflicting interests like big food companies that have your money in mind, not your health, a bunch of misleading science that’s been done over the last say 60 years, and a whole lot more. It’s no wonder people are so confused about what’s healthy these days and western societies have an insane rate of obesity and chronic disease.
The purpose of this podcast series is to demystify this - give info to people in a simple way that they can incorporate into their life. We’re going to go beyond nutrition into all things that make for a healthy lifestyle including mind, body, and spirit. There’s so much to health beyond what you eat.
We’ll get into the Sapien Diet and Sapien Lifestyle a lot. The Sapien Lifestyle is what happens when you put all these things together. I did a podcast with a vegan!
Terri Buyanov came over when she was passing through LA and I got to pick her brain and see how she’s doing and how she thinks,
She’s only 1.5 years in so let’s see what happens!
So far she seems like she’s doing great and says her diet was already healthy before and she just cut the last bit of animal foods and felt better.
Super interesting to me because I’ve never heard of this before... I’ve heard of every story but this one.
